Follow Friday // Black*Eiffel

blackeiffel.blogspot.com
Welcome to an occasional Friday Series called Follow Friday. Since first impressions are very important, this series is leading off with one of the design world's heavy hitters. Introducing: Black*Eiffel, a gorgeous blog with a monopoly on great design finds. If you love clean lines, this blog interface alone is worth the visit.

Graphic designer Rachel Jones is the curator of this blog, exploring creative design and lifestyle topics on a daily basis. She's also in the inner circle--you know, the Martha Stewart Circle--so she knows her stuff.

If you're looking for a well-rounded blog, that touches on graphic design, interior design, art, food & drink and all things lovely - I recommend subscribing. You won't regret it!

Still want proof? Let the Black*Eiffel eye candy begin:

When Designing, Do You Ever Get Color Block?

Every now and then when I begin working on a design project, I get a color block. I'll start out with one-to-two colors in mind, and want to expand that into a full-blown palette. A colleague recommended I check out Kuler, and the suggestion has been invaluable.

So what is Kuler? It's a web-hosted application for generating color themes. Kuler is great because it allows you to experiment quickly with color variations and browse thousands of themes from the Kuler community. What I love most about Kuler is that it is accessible from Creative Suite 5 software.

Here are a few palettes that I can't wait to experiment with in upcoming projects:

What are your favorite palettes?
