Introducing: DS Printables

Today marks the start of an occasional blog series called DS Printables: Free printable designs, from Delighted Studio, for your personal use*. To kick off the series, I've created a Thank You Note + Envelope set using my new font crush, Adios Script Pro. I have a client who needs Wedding Invitations for her 9-10-11 Wedding, and I am so excited to use this font for her Wedding Set.

So, to get familiar with all of the beautiful characters this font offers,
I've made this thank you note set for you! To download your free DS Printable, click here.

The finish product!

I hope you enjoy these note cards! Below I'll take you through how I assembled the cards.
All you need is a printer, a few sheets of card stock, scissors and adhesive
(glue stick, rubber cement, glue dots, etc.).

I prefer using glue dots because you can stretch them along the flaps of the envelope.

Once you've printed the DS Printables set, you're ready to start!

Once you've cut out your cards and envelopes,
follow the steps for folding your and gluing your envelopes.

When you're all done your finished set should look like this:

Enjoy!

When Designing, Do You Ever Get Color Block?

Every now and then when I begin working on a design project, I get a color block. I'll start out with one-to-two colors in mind, and want to expand that into a full-blown palette. A colleague recommended I check out Kuler, and the suggestion has been invaluable.

So what is Kuler? It's a web-hosted application for generating color themes. Kuler is great because it allows you to experiment quickly with color variations and browse thousands of themes from the Kuler community. What I love most about Kuler is that it is accessible from Creative Suite 5 software.

Here are a few palettes that I can't wait to experiment with in upcoming projects:

What are your favorite palettes?

Extreme Makeover {Web} Edition

After a few months of slowly coding and editing here and there, I am proud to {finally} launch the new design for both DelightedStudio.com and the DS blog! When I initially launched Delighted Studio it was mainly a portfolio site, but now that I am taking on more and more clients, I felt it was time to revisit the design.

I hope you find the site a lot easier to navigate! Thanks for your support and I look forward to your feedback.

Don't forget you can also follow me on twitter @delightedstudio, as well as view my pin boards on pinterest.com/delightedstudio.

XO,
Danielle
